 Prof. Liu is mainly engaged in the research of design rainstorm, design flood, flood forecast, hydroinformatics and application 3S techniques. He has proposed the technical scheme of mapping rainstorm statistical parameters, and solved the numerical calculation of unbiased plotting positions of Pearson Type-III Distribution. He has led or participated in more than 20 projects, published over 20 papers and 1 monograph. He has gained 2 grade-II National Prizes for Progress in Scientific and Technological, and 1 grade I and 1 grade III prize for progress in science and technology at province or ministry level. He is awarded the grant of “National New Century Talent Program”. He is also Deputy Secretary-General of Hydrological Professional Committee of Chinese Hydraulic Engineering Society, vice chairman of Hydrological Professional Committee of Jiangsu Province.
