His research focuses on water resource utilization, water-saving irrigation, and eco-environmental aspects of efficient irrigation and drainage management. He is principal investigator or co-investigator of 5 projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, Non-profit Industry Financial Program of MWR. He also took part in more than 10 major projects funded by provinces and ministries in China. He has co-authored two books. He has published 23 papers which have been cited over 131 times by others, and 12 papers are indexed by SCI and EI. He won Prizes for the Progress in Science and Technology in Agricultural Water-saving（Grade 1）, and his PhD thesis got the nomination for the 100 Excellent PhD Theses in China in 2010. He is the member of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering (CSAE) and International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS).
