Dr. Ruan's main research area is environmental microbiology with focuses on the nitrogen cycle in freshwater lake, using molecular and immunological probes for lake bacteria and bacterial processes (especially nitrification and denitrification), measuring the rates of N transformation processes, and researching the role of individual populations within the community. He has published 20 papers on academic journals, of which 10 were indexed by SCI. Dr. Ruan is the 2008 recipient of “Excellent Young Teacher of Jiangsu Province, China”. |
