The international courses “Coastal Protection” given by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which is sponsored by Hohai University and organized by the Hydro-Lab, took place in Hohai University during September 18^th to the 30^th, 2009. Five German experts from Germany gave lectures about the coastal protection theory and practices in Germany on topics of project planning and design, design of coastal structures, beach erosion protection, storm surge and flood control, etc. The course attracted over 100 graduate students and young researchers over China to register, and finally 43 are selected to participate in the course.
