From October 10 to 11, 2016, the symposium on the special project—Multi-scale forecasting, prediction and prewarning in hydrology and water resources, which belongs to the first batch of national key research projects—Efficient Utilization of Water Resources, was held in Hohai University and Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute.

A host of experts and leaders including the president of Hohai University Professor Xu Hui, the dean of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute Academician Zhang Jianyun, Academician Wang Hao and so on, attended and addressed the symposium. Besides, the leader of the project Professor Yu Zhongbo, joined by ten other principals, carried out a report to the experts on the task decomposition and implementation of the project. After a hot discussion of the project among the experts, abundant suggestions of great significance on aspects of the implementation, research, application practice and data sharing, etc. were put forward in the symposium.

In addition, more than 70 experts, scholars, relative graduate students from Tsinghua University, Wuhan University, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, and so on, participated in the symposium.
