On October 31, 2016, the vice-president of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Professor Li Xingwei, and Professor Mohamed S GHIDAOUI from University of Toronto, paid a visit to the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering (Hydro-Lab).
Professor Li Xingwei has been devoted to the research on environmental hydraulics in Hong Kong for almost 30 years, who was the world-renowned scholar in the field, the Senior Fellow in Royal Academy of Engineering, Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences and American Society of Civil Engineering, the vice-president of International Association for Hydraulic Research (IAHR), as well as the founding editor of the internationally famous journal—Journal of Hydro-environment Research (IF=3.018).
Moreover, Professor Mohamed S GHIDAOUI, the chief professor at School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Toronto, and Laureate of the Arthur Ippen Thomas Award which is the most prestigious award in IAHR, is mainly engaged in research of hydraulic models in surface, underground and closed pipes.
