On November 26, 2016, the 4th meeting of the 3rd academic committee of the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering (Hydro-Lab) took place in Nanjing. The director of the academic committee Academician Wang Hao, as well as the deputy director Academician Fu Zongbin, and another three academicians along with four professors including Yan Yixin etc., have been present at the meeting.
The vice president of Hohai University (HHU) Academician Wang Chao and the vice president of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute (NHRI) Professor Li Yun respectively gave the opening speech and final summary. The director, deputy director, heads of relevant departments and research teams from the Hydro-Lab also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the director of the Hydro-Lab Professor Yu Zhongbo made a comprehensive report covering various aspects of work carried out in 2016 of the Hydro-Lab, including the research progress, academic achievements, talent training, research team construction, international cooperation and academic exchanges, etc. In addition, the approval work of the Open Research Fund in 2016 was also completed at the meeting. Besides, Professor Gu Chongshi, Chen Qiuwen and Yong Bin gave special reports concerning their latest research progress and achievements, respectively.
The committee members all granted their full approval on the performance of the Hydro-Lab in 2016, suggested more efforts in support of the talent introduction, and hoped that the Hydro-Lab would be more aggressively planning global research program based on the implementation of objectives of our country and leading the forefront of global research.
