On February 27, 2016, the list of the Most Cited Chinese Researchers was released by Elsevier. And Professor Chen Wen of the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering (Hydro-Lab) made the list again in 2016, who has also made it both in 2014 and 2015.

The Elsevier's Scopus database is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, which delivers a comprehensive overview of the world’s research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities. Being selected into the list of the Most Cited Researchers means having the world-level influence in the related fields as to the researchers, whose achievements in scientific research have contributed much to the development of the corresponding fields as well. Besides, Professor Chen Wen has published more than 20 SCI papers in 2016. In the list, there are 1776 Chinese scholars from various fields such as social sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, math, economy and so on.
