In the morning of April 12, 2017, Professor Hu Xiaonong from Jinan University led his team members to visit the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering (Hydro-Lab), at the invitation of our director Professor Yu Zhongbo. At the academic meeting hosted by Professor Shu Longcang, Professor Hu Xiaonong and two vital members (Dr. Wu Chuanhao and Dr. Niu Jie) of his team gave three academic reports, which were respectively titled as “Groundwater Cycle and Support to Ecology in Badain Jaran Desert”, “Impacts of Climate Change on River Basin Water Cycle and Risk Assessment”, and “Modeling the Movement of Water, Bacteria and Nutrients across Heterogeneous Landscapes in the Great Lakes Region and in an Amazonian Tropical Watershed Using a Process-Based Hydrologic Model”. During the meeting, the three guests had a hot discussion with the researchers and graduates present.

Professor Hu Xiaonong, used to work in Florida State University, now is the professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Life Science and Technology, Jinan University, who was selected into the Thousand Talent Program of China. Besides, he is mainly engaged in research on groundwater dynamics and river basin ecological simulation.
