In order to deepen understanding, develop and promote the pragmatic cooperation with the UK partners, from August 16 to September 1, 2016, Professor Zheng Jinhai, the academic leader of the Integrated Estuarine and Coastal Management and Conservation Team in the State Key Laboratory of Hydrology-Water Resources and Hydraulic Engineering (Hydro-Lab), went to Britain including University of Bradford, Manchester Metropolitan University, Newcastle University, Cardiff University and University of Reading for visiting research with the financial aid of the Distinguished Visiting Fellowship Award of Royal Academy of Engineering.

During the visiting, besides some academic reports such as “Wave-seabed-structure interaction around a monopile foundation in nearshore wind farm” and “Introduction of Hohai University”, Professor Zheng emphatically introduced the basic information of the state key Hydro-Lab, and then led his team to confirm the application work of “sustainable deltas”, which is the international cooperation research project supported together by Chinese NSFC, Dutch NOW and British EPSRC, as well as implement the exchange and communication matters of the young teachers and graduate students.

For the purpose of reinforcing the capacity building and expanding international cooperation, the Distinguished Visiting Fellowship Award of Royal Academy of Engineering mainly invites experts of the famous academic institutes abroad to do visiting research in the UK for less than one month, specifically hosted by the engineering departments of British universities.
